In a weird dovetailing of two separate posts, Caroline's ex-boyfriend Daniel tuned into my show last night. When she told me he was listening, I cast about for several minutes, searching for the proper, manly, and dignified way to respond. Then I just gave him a shoutout. I did get a nice little rant in, which was fun and got a pretty positive response. Listenership was a lot better than last time, and I think my playlist was pretty strong. You guys really should tune in sometime; all you need is Winamp. Nick ::: 3:06 PM ::: 0 comments
I had to do an emergency change in my currents. My real reason for living is listening to Radiohead mocking Oasis by covering Wonderwall. There are many ways that I would like to sing to you But I don't know how..." I just finished my first live internet radio broadcast. It was a lot of fun and there were only two hiccups. One came when I played the aforementioned song, which I'd just downloaded, not even thinking of the history of enmity between the two bands. It took me about thirty seconds to realize that the atrocious vocals and buggered lyrics were a joke. The other was just kind of a lame between-songs chat that I completely messed up. Anyway, it was a blast, and anyone with Winamp can tune in next time it happens. I'll try to let you know in advance. Nick ::: 12:54 AM ::: 0 comments
Who else thinks those google ads that link to stuff you blog about are cool? I updated my currents! Nick ::: 5:29 PM ::: 0 comments
I know I haven't updated in a while and I'm sorry. Last weekend was crazy, of course. Monday I had to make one of those all-important Wal-Mart visits, and Tuesday I was up all night recording a song for a friend's birthday, which took forever and a day and was definitely more trouble than it was worth. But, on the other hand, it's a cheap present and I'm poor. I'm starting the general spike in anxiety that always marks the end of the semester, only more so. The cash in my bank account is running low, finals are coming up, and I have to do four and a half hours of research participation if I don't want to fail Psychology. I'm really not getting enough sleep, either. Stupid college. NN hasn't moved out yet, but then, we must give his check time to bounce. B says he's going to find somewhere else to live after this semester, and Ian is still a mystery since Caroline forces me to sit in front of my computer all day waiting for her to get online. Fortunately, I know a number of people who have that fourth roommate that just doesn't fit, so I can probably move in with them in the Spring. That is, if the Milton office sends my transcripts to the right address, with stamps, and with the paperwork actually in the envelope. I've heard horror stories. Does anyone have any ideas what to get Caroline for her birthday? It's coming up in just a month and I still have only very limited ideas. Not to mention a limited budget, but she seems to think that working in the UGA dining halls is beneath me. At which point I remind her that her last boyfriend was a musician. Which is another thing. Guys, do your girlfriends ever get involved in long, late-night, long distance conversations with their ex-boyfriends, consoling them about a recent breakup and reminiscing about their relationship? Because Daniel (not our Daniel, of course) is starting to hit on Caroline pretty hard and she seems to think I'm crazy for getting weirded out. She says I'm too insecure, which I suppose has nothing to do with her comparing her ex to an actor in an erotic film. Does this strike anyone else as just wrong? I need caffeine.
